A campaign operative by training, Kevin Walling has advanced progressive policies on Capitol Hill, in state legislatures and on the municipal level for over a decade. He is the Vice President of HGCreative, a Democratic media firm, the co-founder of Celtic Strategies, and has advised dozens of campaigns on the federal, state and local level as well as Democratic state parties, and progressive organizations on communications efforts, digital engagement programs and targeted voter contact strategies. In 2020, he led the paid media efforts that successfully passed Medicaid expansion in both Oklahoma and Missouri and elected a handful of new Democratic Members of Congress.
Since 2016, Kevin has logged over 500 hours of commentary and political analysis on national news programming across the Fox News Channel (FNC), Fox Business Network (FBN), Fox News Radio and Bloomberg TV and Radio. In the lead up to the 2020 election, Kevin served as a surrogate for the Biden-Harris Campaign campaign, delivering key messaging to conservative audiences across all programming, including during Fox News’ election night coverage. He is also a frequent opinion writer for Fox News Digital and a former contributor to the Hill Newspaper where he writes extensively on campaign tactics, trends and elections.
In 2010, Kevin helped launch No Labels, serving as the organization’s first Political and Field Director, as well as a key national spokesman. In this capacity, he crisscrossed the country building grassroots support for bipartisan solutions on Capitol Hill.
By far, Kevin’s proudest policy accomplishment was helping to lead the successful effort to pass marriage equality as a director of Equality Maryland during the critical 2008 election cycle, when Maryland voters elected their first pro-equality majority in the State Assembly and Senate. In 2014, Kevin was elected to serve as a Democratic Committeeman in Montgomery County, MD and served a term as the chairman of the county’s Democratic Party.
